The OST’s mission consists of conceiving and producing quantitative and comparative indicators relevant to scientific, technological, and innovation activities.

To pursue this objective, OST coordinates the following actions:

• develop and maintain a specialized database;
• carry out reports and studies to apply the indicators produced;
• advance the state of knowledge on methodologies of indicator production and application;
• participate in European and international initiatives in its field.
